running a business - profits

hi all,
if your business is successful then you should have lots of left over profits.
but what should you do with these profits?
it completely depends on the type of business you own but here are some options

  • take it yourself
  • reinvest it into capital, (computers, tables, resources that are not natural or human)
  • if you have enough money set up another branch to your business
  • hiring more specialised and efficient workers
  • bank it, make sure you have a good interest rate
  • invest it, there are many ways but mainly stocks/shares
  • pay back any debt
  • take it yourself (again)

running a business

here is a list of articles so far that are based around running a business

employees

ideas and support to kidbloggers@gmail.com

employees - running a business

employees are vital if you want your business to grow.
as an example:
john has started a small shop selling product x. its quite a small shop, only a stand actually, so only one person is needed to run it. john's shop is going really well so he decides to set up a second stand. of course John isnt capable of running two stands at once so he hires his best friend ben.

the advantage of hiring a person the same age as yourself is that there will be no jealousy of the employee that he/she is being employed by someone younger tha himself/herself. also young minds are far easier to teach and for that matter manipulate into thinking that their low wage is actually high.
make sure all your employees are well trained and that they can contact you if something goes wrong. give them bonusues also to increase moral
Adult made businesses can be modified so that instead of you running a lemonade stand or babysitting. you hire other people to do it for you, and you still get paid for it i.e. a babysitting agency or lemonade stand business empire

launching your business - age problems

does no one treat you seriously because of your age?
make sure that you really impress your potential client and if you are not in the slightest confident in meeting them make contact through emails and phone calls.

the important thing is to make sure you do your job. it is actually quite easy to be more mature than adults even at this age. choose your words carefully, prepare, sound professional, know all of the facts, keep the conversation about business not about your life, don't dress to casually, have business cards and other promotional stuff- possibly websites. its actually quite easy, just mimic the actions of really formal businessmen.
also remind your client that what you lack in experience you make up for in terms of knowledge of the kid and teenage market. also you bring fresh energy and thinking which could be hugely beneficial. argue your case but that doesn't mean get carried away with it.

go online - launching a business

making a website is a great way to market yourself, and, with the consent and help of, unfortunately, your parents you may even manage to sell things from your site.

making the website isnt that hard just use google page creator or something, even blogger, which im using now for the record. in fact if you use blogger you can even generate income through ads.

some people actually convert to website making and generating income of ads because its not that hard and you can do it all from home, a major advantage, as in many other jobs people will not trust kids.

either way its about flashy text catching peoples attention. i cant tell you much cause theres so much if your really interested. but it is a fantastic marketing tool, if you do make one email me and ill make a link and give you some comment

teaching kids business - adult but good site

sure its written by adults but if you not entirely confident about a private business venture then their business franchise could be helpful, as well as being slightly low profit. they also have some good tools such as business card makers and resume (in NZ we call them C.V.s but oh well) programs. also if you want to get some assistance from you parents they're more likely to give it to you if they know that it works.

launching a business - surveys

hi there
once youve got ur idea then comes the time to launch your business.
a good way to find out whether your business is going to work before you actually start is a humble survey. although annoying a survey will give you a reasonably accurate picture of whether your business is in demand and who your key market is which is really important, theres no point advertising sky diving lessons in a retirement home. you should take down notes on who you survey and make sure that you are surveying a wide and diverse range of people. try doing as many people as possible as this will ensure accuracy.
surveys are a great way also to find out if your business actually sucks.
if you have a really good idea and dont want to give it away then you can rephrase the question. such as if you discovered a way of transmitting and receiving electricity wirelessly in a safe way then you could ask "would you like to get rid of all your inconvenient cords and wires" without giving you idea away.

idea directory

hi all
this is a directory of all business ideas that have been thought up and sent in

what is a great idea?
making money from blogs and websites through ads

email ideas and support to kidbloggers@gmail.com

i got an idea

for an entrepreneur the idea of the business is the heart
without an idea there is no business. thinking up one is often the hardest part of the business

a truly great idea addresses a niche (is something that there is little or none of) very few business have accomplished this. certain ideas went a long way e.g. youtube which started as a small website and grew until it was bought by google for a massive 2 billion . the best way to get an idea (apart from visiting the directory) is to think of something that you really want but is not available locally or in rarer cases is not invented yet. products that fall into this category are a niche and thus have enormous potential.

if you have come up with an idea then either follow the advice given throughout the blog or email it to me where i will post it in a exclusive kid business idea directory for all to see with advice attached

to email me with ideas and/or support contact kidbloggers@gmail.com

adult view on kid business

upon searching the internet i found very little information that was written by a relevant person (a kid). Everything that was written by adults seemed to be about saving money, babysitting, and lemonade stands. this blog however is different because in time it will grow and the topics would be more about:

  • investing rather than just collecting interest from a bank
  • how to manage other babysitters and take advantage of them.
  • running a lemonade empire and not having to work at all.
although these are not exact topics the theme is on doing the adult job but still being a kid
there will be so many other topics and i expect others will benefit greatly from this blog.

business ideas

hi all
just one of first posts but i will keep updating it with new links
business ideas are relatively hard to find, by that i mean the good ones.
http://blog.ideavolcano.com/ idea volcano is a new site (unfortunately it's designed for adults) that is practically a forum where users dump leftover ideas which they dont wanna use. although some of these ideas are specifically for adults who have the time, and have left skool, there are many great entrepreneurial ideas which anyone can take advantage of.

go to the new idea directory

in future i will try to find more sites and update the post but for now thats it
if you have any great ideas share them with the world, email them to kidbloggers@gmail.com
